Pinecones and Gumnuts

Did anyone else go through the pinecone phase? I sure did. I used to go on pinecone runs.
I had my specific trees that I would raid. There were a few round here, but not many.
I mainly went to Brighton where they had some really good ones. They were small, brown, perfect and I could easily reach them. There I would be snipping away, loading up my bag. I loved it.

At first I used to varnish them but I soon gave up on that as it was too much.

I had baskets full of them around the house. I even got my mother into it, however I think she just took it on for my sake. She was never really into the wonders of nature things.

I used to love gumnuts also. I couldn't get enough gumnuts. As those were very hard to find around here, I would mainly buy them. Remember when the scented gumnuts were around. Do they still sell them? When I did manage to find them (they were never looked as good as the bought ones) I would scent them myself.

The photos are of some of the pinecones I still have. They are kept outside in pot plants now.
As for the gumnuts, well, I don't seem to have them anymore. It appears they have all gone to God.
