Junior - My Little Petunia

To look at my Junior today, you wouldn't think that 2 weeks ago the vet told me she only had a few weeks left.

She became very ill early August. I knew it was bad. I hadn't seen her that sick in all her 14 1/2 years. My heart sank. She'd been for her yearly vacanations and check up only 4 days before and she was fine.

She picked up a bit after a week, but not enough. I took her back for a follow up. He could now feel a lump in her tummy where one shouldn't be and she'd lost so much body mass. That's when they did the blood test.

I got the call the next day. All indications were 'cancer'.

She's my baby. I'd done everything I possibly could to protect her all her life and then this happens. Something that's totally out of my control. Never thought about this one.

Now I spend as much time with her as I can. Over the past 2 weeks I would have taken close to 1000 photos of her. LOL - thank goodness for digital.

So far, there hasn't been any deteration in her eating or alertness. I'm trying hard to keep her food and fluid intake up. She's happy to see you, want to be with you, wants her stratches, still purs and meows and wants to go outside contsantly to sit in the sun and sniff around. They main thing that has deterated is her little legs. She's very bow legged and wonky.

Oh, she's just entered the room and wants to sit with me. She certainly made her presence known with her loud meooooow. She's always been a great talker. We have had some wonderful conversations.

Junior is my little petunia. She's my special little girl - but don't tell ther others that as your not supposed to have favourites.
